Privacy policy

DartSync works with no account, no password and no advertising cookie. This page sets out the little data it does handle, why, for how long, and how to exercise your rights.

Last updated: 26 September 2026

Who is responsible

The controller is the publisher of DartSync, identified in the legal notice. For anything about your data: contact@dartsync.fr.

The principle: no account, no identification

Playing on DartSync asks for no registration, no email address and no password. No profile is built, and no data is sold, rented or passed to anyone else for commercial purposes.

Player names are freely chosen: nothing obliges you to use a real name, a nickname will do. Please do not type anything sensitive into those fields.

Cookies and storage on your device

DartSync sets no cookie at all — none for advertising, none for tracking, none for analytics, and none technical. The site only uses your browser's local storage (localStorage) to remember your game preferences.

That storage is strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for, and is therefore exempt from consent under article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive — transposed in France in article 82 of the Data Protection Act. It stays on your device and can be cleared at any time by clearing the site's data in your browser.

Who else sees the data

Anyone holding a game's share link can see that game.

Clever Cloud SAS — hosts the site and the API on infrastructure in Paris (see the legal notice).

MongoDB Atlas — the managed database where games and feedback are stored, hosted in the Paris region.

Umami Cloud — cookieless visit counting, with no IP address kept and no individual identifier.

The site's typefaces are served from our own servers. Displaying them sends nothing to a third party.

Player names, the course of a game and feedback are therefore hosted in France. Umami Cloud, on the other hand, may handle data outside the European Union, on the basis of the appropriate safeguards of chapter V of the GDPR.

How long it is kept

Games are kept so that their share link goes on working. Automatic deletion of games left untouched for twelve months is being put in place; until then, any game can be deleted on request to the contact address.

Feedback is not deleted automatically: it is kept until deleted manually, and can be deleted on request to the same address.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability over your data. Write to contact@dartsync.fr, quoting the link of the game concerned so that it can be found.

A piece of feedback, on the other hand, carries nothing that identifies who left it — the choice that spares us keeping your IP address. To ask for one to be erased, give its rough date and what it said: those are the only handles there are.

If, having contacted us, you believe your rights are not being respected, you may complain to the CNIL, the French supervisory authority — www.cnil.fr — or, under article 77 of the GDPR, to the supervisory authority where you live.

Security

Traffic to and from the site is encrypted (HTTPS), and game links rest on random identifiers that cannot be guessed. Only share a game's link with the people you want in that game.

Children

The service is not aimed at children in particular and collects nothing that would reveal a user's age. A child may use DartSync under the responsibility of their parents or guardians.
